Job Summary
The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing entry-level maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the hospital or healthcare facility's equipment, building systems, and infrastructure. This includes performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and addressing basic repairs in accordance with healthcare industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
This is a day shift position 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Essential Functions
-Conduct regular inspections of hospital facilities to identify maintenance needs.
-Perform routine repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
-Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
-Completes all required documentation of preventive maintenance (PM) and regulatory compliance tasks in accordance with department policies.
-Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance requests and prioritize tasks.
-Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
-Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols.
-Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Technical School or formal training in facility maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or related roles required
- 1-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or related roles in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Knowledge of mechanical and utility systems in buildings required.
- Knowledge of hospital maintenance preferred.
- Basic electronical, plumbing, and refrigeration skills required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend various written reports and documents required.
