Manufacturing Manager
The Manufacturing Manager will focus on Safety, Production, QAQC, staffing, development and implementing strategies to enhance manufacturing within Construction Services. This role will also integrate with other groups inside Construction Services. Leverage data analytics, to drive decisions and budgets while conducting cost comparisons and ROI evaluations to support continuous improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Time Research, Development & Education:
Conduct research emerging technologies, software applications and innovative methodologies relevant.
Oversee R&D projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
Learn the electrical manufacturing industry, terms, and deliverables while staying informed of industry trends and best practices to continually refine and improve processes.
Evaluate prefabrication technologies and workflow automation to streamline production and material handling processes.
Implementation:
Ensure implemented processes meet expectations, ROI, safety and productivity goals.
Identify and communicate early when the intended outcome is less than expected.
Analyze costs and collect and analyze data and present to teams.
Ensure processes meet or exceed quality control and safety standards.
Manage initiatives in digital, automation, and software advancement.
Manage use of raw materials, tooling, and consumables, reducing waste and inefficiencies.
Manage training programs to ensure that team members are proficient in new tools and technologies.
Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to staff.
Leverage the Manufacturing production Engineer to assist with facilitating the above.
Managerial:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, prefabrication teams, purchasing, VDC and construction field teams to assess workflows and identify areas for improvement.
Manage committees for best practices and inclusivity with the global objectives.
Promote open and constructive communication between all participants.
Provide team bonding and a team atmosphere that encourages growth and new ideas.
Manage development plans, performance appraisals and disciplinary processes if needed.
Establish weekly updates, daily goals, stretch goals and transparent two-way communication with teams.
This position at the East Troy facility will manage the facility while also supervising the staff including but not limited to logistics, receiving, shipping, fabrication, assembly, QAQC and general manufacturing.
Forecast staffing needs and adjustments as required.
Conduct interviews and hiring processes for new staff members.
Financial:
Budget costs and manage financials to budget for the East Troy facility and manufacturing year over year.
Provide Monthly updates on status and projections.
Forecast manufacturing backlog and manage inventory.
Forecast tool and equipment wants and needs including purchase and repairs.
Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
Pre-plan and identify hazard elimination methods daily for work tasks
Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
Uphold safety as the top priority, supporting the goal of achieving zero accidents.
Foster open communication between field, prefabrication, and office teams regarding safety improvements and PPE requirements.
Stay up to date on all company-mandated safety training and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Provide minimum education and experience required to perform the job.
Specific types of certifications required to perform the job (if applicable).
This position requires a detail-oriented employee with a passion for manufacturing. Must be self-motivated and have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Manufacturing or a related field.
5 years of experience in manufacturing or manufacturing management role
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or process optimization
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
Proficient in software and technologies namely Microsoft suite, Manufaction (functional knowledge in Revit, Bluebeam, IFS, ACC Build,).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
Provide knowledge, skills and availabilities needed to perform the jobs (i.e. language, software applications, etc.)
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity – both are non-negotiable
Knowledge of manufacturing software and implementation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, independent thinker, quick to pick up design concepts in a face paced environment
