What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathways Peer Recovery Support Specialist position at Piedmont Community Services?
This position is dedicated to providing Peer Recovery Support services to individuals at the Pathways Peer Center. The Peer Recovery Specialist will offer outreach, support, and advocacy in assisting the participants to access mental health services, substance use recovery supports, employment, and other community resources that will help them reach their goals. Peer Recovery Specialist will facilitate groups at the center and assist with creating individualized Recovery, Resilience, and Wellness plans. They will be expected to meet with individuals one on one and create unique opportunities for community engagement. The applicant must have lived experience in utilizing mental health services. Experience with recovery from substance use is also preferred. This position requires the applicant to gain their registration as a PRS through the Board of Professions within one year of hire. The applicant must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Salary commensurate with education and experience as it relates to this position.
