A top-tier NYC hedge fund is seeking a Data Scientist to join its high-performing analytics team. This is a fully on-site role supporting firm-wide data, analytics, and investment initiatives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
🔍 What you’ll do:
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and analytical datasets supporting investment and trading workflows
- Develop insights, models, and analyses that inform portfolio and risk decision-making
- Design and deliver dashboards and BI reporting for internal stakeholders
- Ensure high standards of data quality, integrity, and governance across financial datasets
- Contribute to enterprise data management and metadata cataloging initiatives
- Work across multiple internal departments, translating business needs into scalable data solutions and effectively communicating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
🧠 What we’re looking for
- 4–9 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or Data Engineering
- Strong financial services background (hedge fund, asset management, or investment banking strongly preferred)
Advanced proficiency in:
- SQL (complex querying, optimization, large datasets)
- Python (data analysis, automation, statistical modeling)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Collibra (or similar data governance tools)
- Demonstrated tenure and progression at prior firms
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and investment data
