Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist | Full-Time | Encino, CA
Seeking a Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist to join the team under the direction of the HIM Manager, for a surgery center in Encino, CA. The Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist is responsible for performing electronic health record functions to ensure complete and accurate health information is accessible in a timely manner, as well as assisting with processing requests for use and disclosures of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with state and federal standards.
Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist Role Job Details:
- Job Title: Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist
- Hourly Pay: $21-$22/hr. (depending on experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist Role Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage EHR tasks (prep, scanning, importing, indexing, FTP, bookmarking, e-faxing)
- Oversee EHR document QA audits and resolve issues
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail processes
- Operate fax, copier, scanner, and computer equipment
- Use health data software for record processing and tracking
- Support HIM calls, copy services, walk-ins, portal access, and info requests
- Create electronic files for audits/releases; collect, track, and fax PHI
- Contribute to medical record purging
- Maintain EMR systems per regulatory standards
- Meet productivity goals and perform additional tasks as assigned
Medical Records/Data Entry Specialist Role Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- EMR experience
- Data Entry 10-key by touch and typing speed of 35 wpm (required)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
