SAP Platform Manager

A global organization with a complex enterprise technology landscape is seeking an experienced SAP Platform Manager to lead the strategy, governance, operations, and continuous improvement of its SAP ecosystem. This role will serve as the technical owner of the SAP platform, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and operational excellence across cloud-based ERP environments.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in SAP Basis, cloud infrastructure, SAP platform operations, and vendor management, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global environment.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving platform stability, modernization initiatives, cloud transformation efforts, and long-term SAP technical strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP Platform Leadership

• Define and execute the SAP platform strategy, roadmap, governance framework, and operational model across ERP, analytics, databases, middleware, and integration platforms.
• Serve as the primary technical leader responsible for SAP platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, business technology leaders, and functional stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business objectives.

Platform Operations & Infrastructure Management

• Oversee day-to-day SAP platform operations, including system availability, monitoring, performance management, capacity planning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery preparedness.
• Establish operational standards, support models, documentation practices, and service management processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, automation, and service quality.

Cloud & Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with cloud providers, managed service partners, and system integrators.
• Govern service delivery performance, SLA compliance, maintenance schedules, escalation management, and operational risk mitigation.
• Ensure effective coordination between internal teams and external partners supporting SAP environments.

Technical Delivery & Transformation

• Lead major SAP technical initiatives including upgrades, migrations, cloud transformations, platform enhancements, and infrastructure modernization projects.
• Support enterprise-wide transformation programs and strategic SAP deployments.
• Ensure platform readiness for future SAP technology adoption and innovation initiatives.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Maintain SAP platform security, compliance, audit readiness, and governance standards.
• Oversee user access controls, risk management processes, system controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and security best practices.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead distributed, global, and offshore support teams.
• Manage resource planning, workload prioritization, performance management, and team development activities.
• Act as the senior escalation point for critical platform incidents and enterprise-impacting issues.
• Drive root cause analysis, problem management, and long-term corrective action planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 15 years of SAP technical platform experience with significant expertise in SAP Basis administration and infrastructure operations.
• Proven experience supporting modern SAP cloud environments, including SAP S/4HANA and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, managed services, infrastructure governance, and shared responsibility models.
• Demonstrated experience leading SAP platform, Basis, or infrastructure teams within global organizations.
• Deep knowledge of SAP system administration, transport management, monitoring, performance optimization, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience supporting SAP databases, middleware, integration platforms, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Strong understanding of SAP security frameworks, access controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
• Experience managing large-scale vendor relationships, cloud providers, and system integration partners.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence, process improvement, and technology modernization initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• SAP certifications related to Basis, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, or cloud technologies.
• Experience supporting multi-region or global SAP landscapes.
• Exposure to SAP RISE, cloud transformation programs, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Background leading large-scale SAP migration and upgrade programs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Base Salary: $160,000 - $200,000
• Hybrid Work Schedule (4 Days Onsite)
