What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing Merchandiser position at Phoenix Textile?
Success in this role will be highly dependent upon building and maintaining exceptional relationships with the Customer/Brand, as well as having a strong understanding of the desired Brand aesthetic. Merchandiser/planning roles in bridging and delivering Customer/Brand objectives with assigned regional production team. Oversea and manage the development and bulk production of product from initial design through final delivery. Ensures timely delivery of quality (up to Customer/Brand’s standards), profitable goods.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maximize sales with Customer/Brand for regional production team
- Be the expert in the interests and preferences of your Customer/Brand with regional production team
- Know and understand your Customer/Brand buying/sourcing patterns, design/style nuances. Seek feedback from Customer/Brand by closely monitoring requests, shifts and PO placements.
- Foster strong relationships with both Customer/Brand and regional production team
- Manage and coordinate Customer/Brand developments, preproduction and production with regional production team.
- Keep and maintain preproduction and production milestones ontime and on schedule.
- Owning the development and production process, and working directly with both Customer/Brand and regional production team from initial design through final delivery.
- Maintaining accurate production charts and tools that are consistent with all deliverables with Customer/Brand and regional production team.
- Communicating and managing any production related issues or opportunities with relevant external/internal teams.
- Ensure all communication are clear and understandable with all deliverables and deadlines. Make sure it is understood and confirmed by regional production team.
- Work closely and manage carefully with regional production team for all deliverables and deadlines.
- Work closely with Customer/Brand in their requests and needs with regional production team
- Manage Customer/Brand expectations. Make sure to deliver and not over promise.
- Daily communications with Customer/Brand and regional production team and manage execution and follow-up for specific styles/washes/fits
- Must be proactive in all communication between Customer/Brand and regional production team.
- Support buying/sourcing strategy for your Customer/Brand with regional production team.
Experience/Knowledge Needed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of merchandising and production experience in denim apparel
- Proven leadership experience and ability to thrive in team based multi-company settings and cross functional teams internally and externally
- Customer/Brand facing communication as well as with regional production team across multiple time zones.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, structured environment.
- A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners to achieve deliverables across multiple time zones.
- High comfort level in discussing denim development wash/fit/style construction
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate confidently to leadership, customer and production team
- Passion for fashion retail and denim apparel production
- Proven understanding of sales analysis and financial metrics related to your business
- Strong desire to learn and hunger for more
- Must be able to travel internationally: North America, Central America and Asia without issue.
- Fluency in Spanish, Chinese Mandarin or Vietnamese is a plus

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
