About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of heavy equipment at customer locations. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in electrical and hydraulic systems to minimize equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction. Your proficiency in using diagnostic software and interpreting technical manuals will be critical to your success.
Responsibilities- Perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, including aerial lifts, digger derricks, and cranes.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and electrical systems, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
- Complete detailed inspection reports and repair orders, accurately documenting all service activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, recommended repairs, and estimated timelines.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing field service work.
- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five years of experience in heavy equipment repair, with a focus on field service.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must have your own tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with LMI (Load Moment Indicator) and CAN bus (Controller Area Network) diagnostics.
- Familiarity with DOT, ANSI, and Dielectric testing procedures.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and hydraulic diagrams.
