About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Turning Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain Swiss-type CNC machines. In this role, you will ensure the production of high-precision parts while adhering to strict quality standards. Your expertise in tooling, offsets, and in-process inspections will be crucial to our success.
Responsibilities- Set up CNC Swiss machines, including tooling selection, establishing offsets, and material preparation, ensuring optimal machine performance.
- Operate and fine-tune Swiss machines to consistently produce parts that meet stringent quality specifications, making necessary adjustments to tooling and offsets.
- Conduct thorough in-process inspections using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and vision systems, meticulously documenting inspection results.
- Address and resolve common machining and tooling problems, escalating complex issues to senior machinists or engineering for advanced support.
- Contribute to enhancing production efficiency through workflow improvements, performing basic preventative maintenance, and adhering to established manufacturing procedures.
- Work closely with team leads and senior machinists to facilitate seamless production operations and drive continuous improvements in setup and machining techniques.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC Swiss machining.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing complete machine setups on Swiss-type CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, applying GD&T principles, and working within tight tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving capabilities, and a dedication to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure part accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with editing CNC programs; ESPRIT experience is a plus.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds, meeting the physical demands of the role.
