About the Role
As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of complex aerospace assembly equipment. By leveraging your expertise in manual machining and metrology, you will ensure that every build meets exact engineering specifications, directly impacting the quality and reliability of high-stakes aerospace components.
Responsibilities- Construct high-precision jigs and fixtures by interpreting complex 3D CAD models and detailed engineering prints.
- Establish accurate reference points and tooling holes using advanced straightedges and precision measurement instruments.
- Execute necessary repairs and modifications to existing tooling to maintain peak operational efficiency.
- Draft clear fabrication sketches to support the development of custom assembly solutions.
- Operate manual machine tools, including lathes, Bridgeport mills, and grinders, to fabricate custom components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize tooling designs for improved manufacturing throughput.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 5 years of hands-on experience in precision jig and fixture building.
- Advanced proficiency in blueprint reading, including GD&T and 3D CAD model interpretation.
- Expertise in hand metrology and precision measurement tools.
- U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status.
Preferred Skills
- Strong background in manual machining operations (mills, lathes, grinders).
- Excellent mathematical aptitude and technical communication skills.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and rework complex mechanical assemblies.
