Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/ Sonography (Required)
- In lieu of an Associates Degree; a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable
Work Experience
- 4 - 5 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
Required Certifications/Licensures:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Adult Echo or Pediatric Echo or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Essential Functions
TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USE
- Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
- Understands equipment operation.
- Maintains equipment in working order.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Uses technology to increase productivity.
- Adapts to new technology.
ABLE TO PERFORM ADULT ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY/ VASCULAR ULTRASOUND EXAMS
- Perform required exams without supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians.
- Act as a resource in area of expertise.
- Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand ups and on the job training.
- Adult Echo/ Pediatric Echo/ Adult Vascular Exams.
- TEE Echocardiography.
- Assist OR with ultrasound guided procedures.
- Perform Pediatric Echocardiography as required.
Additional Duties
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
