Philly Art Center is a dynamic hub for creativity in the greater Philadelphia region. With 3 locations across the City and a New Jersey location, Philly Art Center believes in process learning and employs a team of creatives to deliver on its mission. A wide range of programming for all ages supports student learning.
Classes for adults take place in the evenings and on Saturday afternoons. We are seeking dynamic and passionate Painting teachers to join our team, specifically for Saturday Afternoon currently, with the possibility to add weekday evening(s) in the future. Candidates must have extensive paint experience, ideally with some teaching experience. Painting courses must include foundational acrylic painting instruction; including but not limited to working from observation, color theory, and material safety.
We have a supportive leadership team that helps onboard, train and support teammates; and our program team ensures excellent preparedness.
*Schedule*
Seeking Candidates currently for Saturdays from 12:45- 4pm: Weekday opportunities may present in the future, Monday - Thursday evenings from 6 - 9:15 pm.
*Duties*
- Instruct beginner and intermediate level students in classes that meet weekly on a variety of techniques and painting skills, including working from observation, color theory, and material safety.
- Develop and implement a syllabi, with support from our team, that builds skills and supports lively student engagement.
- Support individual student needs and interests while maintaining a friendly class environment.
*Skills*
- Strong background in painting techniques and methodologies with a BFA in Fine Art preferred.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
