Mt Airy Coffee's prime location and position as a community hub is perfect for an individual with a deep appreciation and curiosity for coffee. The Shift Leader is able to lead by example at all times by displaying the highest standard for all tasks in the workplace, including customer service, efficiency, productivity, and cleanliness. They are expected to maintain those standards by ensuring staff are familiar with and able to perform those same job responsibilities. The Shift Leader works with support from Management, and communicates openly regarding any and all concerns, and in order to clarify policies, expectations, and to offer insight and solutions for café-level issues. They are expected to demonstrate a positive and flexible, solution-oriented attitude. The Shift Lead is able to fully and efficiently fulfill all responsibilities of a Barista.
The individual fulfilling this role has a strong interest to grow in the coffee industry, and a desire to support the advancement of an established coffee business in West Mt Airy. Experience at this level in the food service industry, and our approach to Specialty Coffee is required, as is a pleasant outlook, a collaborative approach in the work place, the patience and fortitude to work hard, and a sense of creativity and humor. In addition to the hourly rate offered is a guaranteed rate of $6.00/hour in tips. We are looking for individuals with availability on weekdays and weekends.
