What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Associate(s) position at Philip Carter Winery & Valley View Farm?
Philip Carter Winery in Hume, VA, is looking for a few tasting room educators to join our team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.
These are part time positions:
Tasting Room Associate: $14hr plus tips (w/tips can make up to around $25hr)
Tasting Room Supervisor: $16hr plus tips (w/tips can make up to around $25hr)
We are seeking individuals who have a passion for wine, mead, cider and who would love to work weekend events in a beautiful setting!
Spring through Fall is our busy time of year, must be able to work 3-4 weekend days a month (Fri evening, Saturday, Sundays).
Great opportunity for teachers, retired, and those just looking for a second job Fri evening through Sunday! Potential daytime shifts on Mon, Thurs, Fri at times for the right person who is flexible.
Responsibilities
- Operating the point of sales and selling products
- Learning about PCW and VVF's Craft Beverages and history
- Pouring tastings and educating customers about our business
- Conducting winery tours (optional)
- Providing excellent service to our customers
- Doing your part of cleaning and keeping up appearances
- Discussing and encouraging customers to join our wine club membership
Qualifications
- 21 and over
- Excited about wine!
- Weekend Availability (Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays)
- Willingness to learn
- Strong Work Ethic
- Ability to lift at least 36 lbs
- Can work at least 4 days a month
