What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winery Administrative Assistant/Supervisor position at Philip Carter Winery & Valley View Farm?
Position is part time for now. Hours ranging from around 15-25 per week. The hourly pay rate $16-$20 plus additional tips which can average out to around $25hr. Must have availability on Friday evenings (when we have events), Saturday and Sundays.
Philip Carter Winery in Hume, VA, is looking for an overall Administrative Assistant/Tasting Room Supervisor. This job will encompass help with Wine Club management/growth, Tasting Room duties, and help with Events and Marketing. Must have previous hospitality wine experience and knowledge. This person will help grow the Club Membership program. This position will consist of office duties, tasting room education to guests, and helping overall maintaining a beautiful appearance inside and outside of the tasting room facility. There may be offiste events, that you will have to work as well. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.This person will work cohesively with the General Manager.

Responsibilities
- Operating the point of sales and selling products
- Learning about PCW and VVF's Craft Beverages and history
- Pouring tastings and educating customers about our business
- Conducting winery tours (optional)
- Providing excellent service to our customers
- Doing your part of cleaning and keeping up appearances
- Discussing and encouraging customers to join our wine club membership
- Answering emails regarding Club Membership
- Handling monthly orders to be shipped out.
Qualifications
- 21 and over
- Excited about wine!
- Weekday and Weekend Availability (most importantly Friday Evening, Saturdays, and/or Sundays)We are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Willingness to learn
- Strong Work Ethic
- Ability to lift at least 36 lbs
- Can work at least 3-5 days a week
