We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee the daily maintenance and operations of our trade school campus in Philadelphia. This role supervises maintenance staff, manages facility projects, and ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational learning environment for students and staff. You may be asked to perform these same duties at our other location.
The ideal candidate has strong janitorial and mechanical experience , leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility issues efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance and janitorial staff
- Perform and manage mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations
- Maintain work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory of supplies
- Respond to facility-related emergencies as needed
- Perform cleaning and janitorial duties
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors
- Gathers and empties trash
- Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities
- Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
- Drives vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including industrial trucks, vans, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary
- Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of facilities maintenance experience (commercial, industrial, or school setting preferred)
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and general building repairs
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work
- Relevant certifications (HVAC, EPA, OSHA, electrical, etc.) are a plus
- Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
- Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- High school courses in shop may be preferred for jobs involving repair work
Schedule
