The Vice President of Corporate Communications is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive stakeholder outreach strategies that support the company’s initiatives within a highly regulated consumer product category. The role requires a strategic communicator with deep experience in media relations, regulatory landscapes, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will empower internal teams to articulate the company’s mission and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Monitor and interpret political, scientific, and regulatory developments relevant to the company’s product category.
- Build and manage relationships with media outlets, influencers, and government communicators.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent and effective messaging to external audiences.
Risk & Reputation Management
- Proactively identify communication risks and opportunities tied to regulatory strategies.
- Develop strategic plans to mitigate reputational risk and enhance public trust.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a high-performing communications team, overseeing recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and career development.
- Establish departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Track departmental performance and implement process enhancements.
- Ensure all communications comply with legal and regulatory standards.
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in corporate communications, preferably within industries involving highly regulated consumer products (e.g., healthcare, personal care, food and beverage, or medical devices).
- Proven success in media relations across traditional and digital platforms.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and public-facing communications in complex environments.
