Vice President, Middle Office - Fixed Income
Overview
A leading hedge fund is seeking a VP-level Middle Office professional to support its Fixed Income business. This role is responsible for overseeing the full trade lifecycle across a diverse set of products, including rates, derivatives, FX, and cash instruments.
The position works closely with investment and trading teams to ensure accurate trade execution, reliable risk reporting, and strong operational controls. Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Support & Lifecycle Oversight
- Ensure timely and accurate trade capture across systems
- Partner directly with traders and portfolio managers to support trade flow and resolve issues
- Monitor trade matching/affirmation and validate key economic details
- Manage post-trade activity including amendments, lifecycle events, and exception handling
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams (front office, operations, technology) and external counterparties
- Support trade allocation, confirmation, and settlement processes
- Engage with custodians and counterparties on events and discrepancies
- Escalate and resolve breaks impacting trading or reporting
Risk & Process Improvement
- Help maintain accurate risk and position data across platforms
- Serve as a control point for trade integrity and operational risk
- Identify inefficiencies and work with technology teams to implement automation
- Contribute to strengthening workflows, controls, and documentation
P&L & Valuations
- Support intraday and end-of-day P&L reporting accuracy
- Analyze P&L drivers, including market movements and trading activity
- Assist in daily P&L validation and pricing review
- ~4 years of experience in financial services, ideally within middle office or trade support
- Strong exposure to fixed income products (rates and derivatives preferred)
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle
- Experience interacting directly with trading desks and external counterparties
- Familiarity with P&L reporting and valuation processes
- Proficiency in Excel and market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg)
- Interest in automation and process improvement; Python or similar skills are a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a front office-facing environment
