Now Hiring: Medical Receptionist (Temp / Temp-to-Perm Opportunity) -Stony Brook Health
We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist for a temporary opportunity with the potential to become permanent at Stony Brook Health.

Pay: Up to $24.72/hour, depending on experience

Please note:
• Candidates cannot have previously worked for Stony Brook Health
• Candidates cannot have applied to Stony Brook Health within the last 12 months

Responsibilities:
• Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls professionally
• Perform patient check-in/check-out using EMR systems
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information
• Obtain patient signatures and ensure completion of required paperwork
• Collect and process patient payments
• Coordinate patient flow and communicate delays or scheduling updates
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and additional services
• Obtain referrals, authorizations, and eligibility verifications as needed
• Maintain office supply inventory and communicate ordering needs
• Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
• Provide occasional evening/weekend coverage when needed

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Administration program OR

• Minimum 6 months of Medical Receptionist experience OR
• 1 year of clerical experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Professional phone etiquette and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and dependable
