Position Overview
A well-established and growing gastroenterology practice based in Winston-Salem is seeking a full-time LPN to join the team. Role Summary
The Endoscopy Nurse (LPN) works closely with physicians and anesthesia providers to support patient care needs during endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, maintaining accurate documentation, evaluating outcomes, and helping ensure a safe clinical environment. Strong IV insertion skills are essential for this role, as timely and accurate vascular access is critical to patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and provide quality patient care during endoscopy procedures
- Perform IV insertions proficiently and safely, ensuring patient comfort and proper access for procedures
- Assist physicians and clinical staff during procedures as needed
- Help maintain an efficient daily schedule and support smooth department operations
- Communicate with patients and families in a professional, compassionate, and helpful manner
- Travel between practice locations as needed (valid driver's license and insurance required)
- Assist with orientation and training of endoscopy team members
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- 1–2 years of experience in medical-surgical or endoscopy settings (preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion required
- Willingness to obtain ACLS certification within one year of employment
- Active North Carolina LPN license or compact state license valid in NC
- Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and basic math proficiency required)
- Reliable transportation, valid NC driver's license, and proof of insurance
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of medical-surgical experience
- Experience with IV starts in a clinical or procedural setting
