Licensing Specialist – Global Commercial Insurance Firm (Midtown Manhattan)A growing international commercial insurance firm is seeking a Licensing Specialist to support all aspects of domestic and international (re)insurance regulatory and licensing compliance. Responsibilities include managing license applications, registrations, renewals, corporate filings, affiliate transaction submissions, director/officer notifications, and communications with insurance regulators. The role also assists Reinsurance Counsel with filing and tracking affiliate reinsurance contracts requiring prior approval.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch and manage domestic and international (re)insurance license and registration renewalsSubmit and track regulatory filings, including payments to state regulatorsMaintain organized records of licenses, registrations, fees, and submissionsCoordinate with regulators, state insurance departments, law firms, and internal teamsUpdate biographical affidavits for officers and directorsConduct research on holding company statutes and other regulatory mattersRespond to daily inquiries on filings, assessments, data calls, and regulatory noticesMaintain original and electronic copies of licenses and registrationsSupport special regulatory projects as neededRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication, research, analytical, and organizational skillsBachelor’s degree3–5 years of insurance regulatory, licensing, or legal experienceSound judgment, discretion, and professionalism with sensitive informationAbility to follow established workflows and work independently or collaborativelyProficiency in online legal and insurance research
