About the Role:
Phaxis Education is seeking a dedicated and supportive Paraprofessional to assist students and teachers in a school-based setting in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will provide classroom support, help maintain a positive learning environment, and assist students with academic, behavioral, and social needs throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students in both 1:1 and small-group settings
- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson implementation and classroom routines
- Support students with academic tasks, organization, and engagement
- Reinforce positive behavior strategies and help maintain a safe, supportive environment
- Assist students with social and functional skill development as needed
- Help with data collection, progress notes, and classroom documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to meet student needs
- Support students with daily activities, transitions, and accommodations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or students in a school setting (preferred)
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow teacher direction, maintain consistency, and support classroom expectations
- Comfortable providing support to students with diverse learning, behavioral, or social-emotional needs
- Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to student success
