Special Education Paraeducator

About the Role:

Phaxis Education is seeking a dedicated and supportive Paraprofessional to assist students and teachers in a school-based setting in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will provide classroom support, help maintain a positive learning environment, and assist students with academic, behavioral, and social needs throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support to students in both 1:1 and small-group settings
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson implementation and classroom routines
• Support students with academic tasks, organization, and engagement
• Reinforce positive behavior strategies and help maintain a safe, supportive environment
• Assist students with social and functional skill development as needed
• Help with data collection, progress notes, and classroom documentation
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to meet student needs
• Support students with daily activities, transitions, and accommodations

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children or students in a school setting (preferred)
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow teacher direction, maintain consistency, and support classroom expectations
• Comfortable providing support to students with diverse learning, behavioral, or social-emotional needs
• Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to student success
