Job Title: Behavior Technician (School-Based)
Location: School Setting
Schedule: School hours (Monday–Friday)
Position Overview
The Behavior Technician (BT) supports students with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs in a school setting. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or school-based behavioral team, the Behavior Technician implements behavior intervention plans and provides direct support to help students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and behavior support strategies as directed by the BCBA or school team
- Provide 1:1 or small-group behavioral support to students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school environments
- Collect and document accurate data on student behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions
- Assist students with emotional regulation, social skills, and coping strategies
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or developmental needs
- Ability to follow behavior plans and collect data accurately
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Prior experience in a school-based or special education setting
- Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional disabilities, or behavioral challenges
