Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Staff Pharmacist role based in Columbus, OH. The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately reviewing, verifying, and dispensing medications and related products in accordance with federal and state regulations, company policies, and professional standards. Daily responsibilities include evaluating prescriptions for appropriateness, potential interactions, and contraindications; providing clear counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals; and maintaining accurate clinical and dispensing records. The role also involves collaborating with technicians and other team members to ensure efficient workflow, managing medication inventory and storage conditions, and participating in quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities. The Staff Pharmacist will contribute to process improvements, support training and guidance for pharmacy staff, and help uphold a culture of safety, accuracy, and respectful patient care.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Ohio, with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosing, and therapeutic uses of medications, including familiarity with cosmetics and related healthcare products.
- Experience with prescription verification, medication order review, and application of clinical judgment in a retail, long-term care, or institutional pharmacy setting.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, e-prescribing platforms, and basic office software to support accurate dispensing and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Effective, inclusive communication skills for interacting with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and internal team members in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbus, OH, including potential evening or weekend shifts as needed, and to collaborate in a team-based environment.
- Familiarity with state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA requirements, and best practices for controlled substances management.
