We are seeking a Scientist I to join our Gene Therapy team in San Diego. In this role, you will support the analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) used in cutting-edge gene therapy and genome editing programs. You'll work closely with analytical scientists to evaluate nanoparticle formulations, analyze experimental data, and contribute to the development of next-generation non-viral nucleic acid delivery technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids.
- Analyze raw materials and support LNP formulation development.
- Perform analytical techniques including DLS, Zeta Potential, HPLC, and RiboGreen assays.
- Prepare buffers and reagents for laboratory experiments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and experimental records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams to support formulation and analytical studies.
- Assist with routine laboratory operations, including instrument calibration and inventory management.
- Analyze data and communicate results effectively to project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2 years of laboratory experience in analytical development, nanoparticle characterization, or pharmaceutical research.
- Hands-on experience with Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) or nanoparticle formulations.
- Experience with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Zeta Potential, HPLC, and preferably RiboGreen.
- Experience preparing laboratory buffers and reagents.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience with GraphPad Prism, JMP, or similar analytical software is a plus.
