Position Summary
The Regulatory Coordinator supports the Regulatory Affairs team across all Pets People product categories by coordinating registration, testing, documentation, and project tracking activities that help keep products moving toward compliant launch. This role is highly cross-functional and serves as a key operational partner to Product Development, Sourcing, and external laboratories, consultants, and registration agencies.
The Regulatory Coordinator will help manage the day-to-day execution of regulatory support activities across categories including pet treats, grooming and dental, pet toys, home care, tabletop, grilling, children’s products, and related consumer product lines. This person will play an important role in organizing submissions, tracking deliverables, coordinating testing, maintaining documentation, and helping ensure that required regulatory and compliance activities are completed accurately and on time.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-moving consumer products environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate regulatory operations across all Pets People product categories, supporting new product launches, reformulations, packaging updates, alternate sourcing projects, and ongoing product maintenance.
- Manage product registration and testing workflows by preparing submission materials, collecting required documentation, coordinating with external labs and registration partners, tracking timelines and filing status, and maintaining complete records.
- Coordinate internal and external testing programs, including safety, claims substantiation, stability, compatibility, performance, quality, and compliance testing as applicable.
- Organize and maintain regulatory documentation, including testing reports, supplier files, substantiation support, certifications, specifications, formulas, ingredient information, artwork, and submission histories, ensuring records are complete, current, and properly stored.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to track project milestones, monitor deadlines, follow up on open items, and flag risks or missing information that could affect regulatory deliverables.
- Support internal, customer, retailer, and compliance-related requests by providing required documents, declarations, testing records, and other regulatory support materials.
- Contribute to the efficiency and scalability of the Regulatory function by maintaining templates, trackers, workflows, and process documentation, while providing broader project coordination support for team and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Regulatory Affairs, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Consumer Products, Project Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in regulatory affairs, quality, product compliance, testing coordination, product development support, or a related function.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with careful attention to detail.
- Experience managing documentation, trackers, timelines, and cross-functional follow-up.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting registrations, compliance testing, product development, or regulatory documentation in consumer products, pet products, food, personal care, home care, or related categories.
- Familiarity with working with third-party laboratories, testing protocols, or regulatory submissions.
- Experience with PLM systems, document management systems, or project tracking tools.
