Petroplan is recruiting for an experienced Lead Process Engineer to join a multidisciplinary site engineering team supporting the commissioning, startup, operation, and ongoing optimization of a large industrial processing facility on behalf of an LNG Client. This role serves as the primary process engineering authority, providing technical leadership, supporting plant operations, and ensuring process safety and engineering documentation remain current and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the site technical authority for all process engineering matters.
- Review and approve Process Management of Change (MOC) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) actions related to process systems.
- Maintain ownership of the master Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) redline register and ensure updated documentation is accessible to operations and engineering personnel.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support during commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
- Assist with commissioning planning and execution by resolving process-related technical issues.
- Contribute process engineering updates and technical input to routine engineering and project status reports.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional engineering licensure/certification.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive process engineering experience within large industrial processing facilities, including significant experience in complex process operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in process engineering throughout the project lifecycle, including conceptual design, process simulation, detailed engineering, plant startup, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of major process equipment and systems used in large-scale industrial facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and operational teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent process simulation tools.
- Working knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities is highly desirable.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any site-specific access credentials or security clearances required for facility access.
