Petroplan is recruiting for a Senior Associate, Construction Finance to support the financial planning and analysis of large-scale capital construction projects on behalf of our LNG Client. This role partners closely with project controls, engineering, construction, accounting, and business leadership to provide financial insights, manage budgets and forecasts, and support strategic decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative finance professional with strong analytical skills, experience supporting capital projects, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to both technical and executive audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial performance of assigned capital projects or business areas.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze actual financial results and prepare variance reports with actionable recommendations.
- Update forecasts and identify trends impacting project costs and financial performance.
- Support cash flow planning and liquidity forecasting.
- Review project changes and evaluate their financial impact.
- Assist with contract reviews and supplier financial risk assessments.
- Support appropriate accounting treatment for project-related expenditures and financial transactions.
- Develop financial models and provide data-driven analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare executive-level presentations summarizing financial performance, forecasts, risks, and key metrics.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal leadership and external reporting requirements.
- Generate ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as requested.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including project controls, construction, engineering, accounting, and leadership, to ensure financial alignment and reporting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting tools, and forecasting methodologies through continuous process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in finance, project controls, cost engineering, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful business insights.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to achieving business objectives.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when handling confidential information.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
- Willingness to work onsite in a collaborative office environment on a full-time basis.
