Description
The RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient on the unit and planning care needed to meet those needs, including spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. Once planned, the RN is responsible to see that the plan of care is carried out through performance. After the plan is implemented and the care provided the patient's response is evaluated physically, verbally and in writing.
Required Education
Graduate of accredited school of Nursing
Preferred Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Required Technical Skills
Patient care assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Knowledge and ability to perform skills necessary for unit specific competencies, to include age specific competencies.
Preferred Technical Skills
Advanced competencies as defined by demonstrated participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
Required Experience
Skilled in assessments relating to the Cardiopulmonary systems.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a cardiac setting and confidence in interpretation of EKG rhythms.
Required Licensure /Registration /Certification
Texas license as a RN, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Preferred Licensure /Registration /Certification
Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP)
