What You Will Do
Works under the supervision of the physicians and management team to care for patients within all departments of the hospital and outpatients; places ultrasound guided PICC lines, mid lines, and IV’s; communicates with physicians regarding patient conditions, needs, and care plans.
Required Education
Formal RN Nursing Education
Preferred Education
Bachelors of Science (BSN) in Nursing
Required Skills
RN License
ACLS and PALS CPR
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification
BSN with VA-BC designation
Required Experience
One year experience as a vascular access nurse
Preferred Experience
Greater than two years’ experience as a vascular access nurse

Required Skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision-making and patient care skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and safety standards.
- Excellent veni-puncture skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to determine when physician intervention is necessary.
- Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
RN License
