Job Title: House Support Manager
Location: Jacksonville, Oregon
Compensation: $23-$25 per hour
Duration: Seasonal, 20 shows plus emergency coverage (estimated total of 25)
FSLA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: House Manager & Director of Strategy & Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The House Support Manager supports the overall operation of Britt’s front-of-house activities and provides cross-functional leadership across audience services, volunteer coordination, and concessions operations. This role works closely with the House Manager, Assistant House Manager, Hospitality & Retail Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Director of Patron Experience to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-organized patron experience for all performances.
The House Support Manager assists with front-of-house planning, supports operational logistics during performances, and provides management coverage when other front-of-house leadership staff are unavailable. During high-attendance events and sold-out performances, this role provides additional operational support to ensure smooth venue operations. This position helps ensure operational continuity across front-of-house functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Front of House Support
· Support the House Manager in overseeing front-of-house operations before, during, and after performances.
· Monitor guest flow and venue activity during events to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
· Assist with troubleshooting operational issues during performances.
· Enforce venue policies and house rules for patrons, staff, and volunteers.
· Assist with incident documentation and performance reporting as needed.
Event Operations Support
· Provide additional operational leadership during high-attendance events and sold-out performances.
· Coordinate with production, concessions, security, and operations teams to address real-time issues during events.
· Support the setup and readiness of front-of-house facilities prior to performances.
· Help monitor concession areas to improve patron flow and guest experience.
· Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to provide on-site leadership support for volunteer teams including ushers, ticket takers, and sales volunteers.
· Assist with volunteer orientation, training, and communication as needed.
· Help ensure volunteers are informed, supported, and operating effectively during events.
Operational Coverage
· Serve as operational backup for the House Manager, Assistant House Manager, or Hospitality & Retail Manager when necessary.
· Assume front-of-house leadership responsibilities when assigned.
· Assist with nightly closing procedures and operational wrap-up following events.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 years’ experience with event operations, hospitality, venue management, or related fields.
· Experience working with volunteers or large event teams strongly preferred.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments and emergency situations.
· Must be available for Britt Live and BFO events held between May 15- Sept 30.
COMPENSATION
This is a seasonal hourly position starting May 1 and ending at the conclusion of the Britt season. Hours fluctuate based on scheduled performances and generally include very long show days with overtime hours and minimal hours on days without a show. This position requires working many nights and weekends during the summer season.
WORK SCHEDULE, ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
As an events-driven organization, Britt’s work schedule varies depending upon the activities of the season and the day. The average day of show shift is approx. 3pm-11pm, plus additional hours on non-show days to coordinate with vendors and volunteers.
This position is primarily located at the Britt hill park in Jacksonville, Oregon, with meetings taking place at the main Britt administrative office located at 216 West Main Street in Medford.
This position requires frequent computer use and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. While at the Britt hill park, this position requires the ability to carry items of up to 30 pounds, to sit or stand outdoors for long periods of time, and to travel up and down steep hills.
