POSITION SUMMARY
The Hospitality & Retail Manager is directly responsible for the end-to-end management of all food, beverage, and retail services at Britt. This role ensures a high-quality patron experience by coordinating a diverse mix of external vendors, volunteer-led sales, and merchandise operations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader with a strong grasp of event logistics and financial reconciliation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Food & Beverage Vendor Management
· Act as the primary point of contact for all food and beverage vendors.
· Manage the scheduling and onsite logistics for vendors for the full performance season.
· Ensure all vendors comply with health, safety, and insurance requirements.
· Set up atVenu POS system for each event for all vendors.
Retail Operations Management
· Oversee the logistics and sales for both Britt-branded and Artist tour merchandise.
· Coordinate the plan for selling artist merchandise with the artists’ representatives.
· Facilitate all merchandise tracking, inventory management, and financial settlements for all concessions
· Coordinate the setup, display, and breakdown of all retail stations.
· Partner with the volunteer coordinator to staff sales positions for all concessions sales including raffle tickets, ice cream, the gift booth, cookies and artist merchandise.
· Set up atVenu POS system for each event for all concession stands.
· Train volunteers on point-of-sale (POS) systems (atVenu) and customer service standards.
· Troubleshoot any POS issues.
· Reconcile and settle all concession stands and artist merchandise sales via atVenu POS systems.
· Work closely with leadership to track the concessions budget and provide on-the-ground insights to ensure all site services are adequately funded and efficient.
Site Logistics
· In collaboration with Britt’s facilities department, coordinate necessary site infrastructure for vendors, including power needs and sanitation services.
· Oversee the physical layout of the concessions area to optimize patron flow and reduce wait times.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 2 years’ experience with event management, hospitality, and/or retail oversight.
· Past experience with various POS Systems. Proficiency in atVenu is highly preferred.
· Strong ability to handle cash reconciliation and interpret sales reports.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships ranging from local vendors to touring artist representatives.
· Must be available for all Britt Live and BFO events held between May 15- Sept 30.
COMPENSATION
This is a seasonal hourly position starting May 1 and ending at the conclusion of the Britt season. Hours fluctuate based on scheduled performances and generally include very long show days with overtime hours and minimal hours on days without a show. This position requires working many nights and weekends during the summer season.
WORK SCHEDULE, ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
As an events-driven organization, Britt’s work schedule varies depending upon the activities of the season and the day. The average day of show shift is approx 3pm-11pm, plus additional hours on non show days to coordinate with vendors and volunteers.
This position is primarily located at the Britt hill park in Jacksonville, Oregon, with meetings taking place at the main Britt administrative office located at 216 West Main Street in Medford.
This position requires frequent computer use and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. While at the Britt hill park, this position requires the ability to carry items of up to 30 pounds, to sit or stand outdoors for long periods of time, and to travel up and down steep hills.
