Here at Pet Care Center of Apopka we are a full-service animal hospital and pet resort. We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Boarding Attendant to join our animal care team.
The Boarding Attendant provides daily care, supervision, and enrichment for boarded pets to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role maintains a clean, organized boarding environment, while delivering compassionate care and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work with animals, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
**Must be available for holidays and weekends**
Responsibilities
- Feed and provide fresh water to boarded pets per instructions
- Clean and sanitize kennels, suites, play areas, and common spaces
- Safely handle pets for walks, exercise, and enrichment
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or health and report concerns
- Maintain accurate care, feeding, and medication logs
- Assist with bathing, brushing, or basic grooming (if trained)
- Laundry, including bedding, towels, and toys
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and biosecurity protocols
- Assist with pet check-in and check-out as needed
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to pet owners
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor settings
- Exposure to noise, odors, cleaning chemicals, and animals
- Physically active, hands-on role
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely handle dogs and/or cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet boarding, daycare, shelter, or animal care
- Knowledge of animal behavior and stress signals
- Customer service experience
- Fear Free or animal-handling certifications (a plus)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
