What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician/Receptionist position at Paws & Claws Pet Boarding?
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to animals in the kennel, including feeding, cleaning, exercising, and monitoring their health and behavior
- Handle dogs and cats safely using proper animal restraint techniques and ensure their comfort and safety at all times
- Greet clients warmly at the front desk, schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, reception area, and other parts of the facility to uphold health standards
- Open or Close facility
- Work independently to care for the animals and check-in/check-out
Requirements
- Prior experience in dog/cat handling, kennel work is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with animals safely - We do get heavy dogs so must be able to control them.
- Basic understanding of pet care practices including feeding schedules, medication administration, and hygiene routines
- Willingness to learn new skills related to dog training, pet sitting, or technology-computer.
Work shifts vary but could start at 6:15am or end at 8/8:30pm.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
