Person County Government is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scorekeeper to support the Recreation, Arts, and Parks Department. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of athletic events by maintaining official game scorebook and managing timekeeping functions.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Work is performed under close to general supervision, following established guidelines and protocols, with limited independent judgment required during gameplay.

- Arrive at the assigned site thirty minutes prior to start of game in order to prepare appropriate equipment. (Bleachers, clock, goals, etc.)
- Ensure playing facilities are clean before and after each game. This includes sweeping the gym floor, cleaning and furnishing bathrooms, parking lots, etc.
- Ensure all equipment is locked after games.
- Responsible for remaining at the assigned site until all responsibilities are completed.
- Keep legible and accurate scorebook.
- Report to the supervisor any problems you may encounter.
- Responsible for working at all parks and recreation locations which may include Huck Sansbury, Longhurst, Olive Hill, Allensville, Hurdle Mills and Helena.
- Must be able to work night and weekend schedules as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of relevant rules of sports at which you will be keeping score or operating the clock.
