What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker IAT - In-Home Services position at Person County Government?
Person County Government is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker IAT for In-Home Services to join the Department of Social Services. Our mission is to alleviate emotional and economic distress among the residents of Person County by strengthening families, protecting children, and promoting stability and well-being in our community.
The In-Home and Foster Care Unit is one of three Child Welfare units within DSS and plays a critical role in ensuring that children’s emotional, social, physical, and economic needs are met. Staff in this unit work directly with children and families to promote safety and positive outcomes through supportive interventions.

Required Minimum Training:
One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative.
Additional Training/Experience:
Completion of Child Welfare Services Pre-Service training is preferred but must be completed prior to assignment of a caseload. Building Cultural Safety, Child Development and the Effects of Trauma, CPS Assessments in CWS, Intake for CWS, Introduction to the NC Practice Standards, Legal Aspects of CW, Medical Aspects of Child Abuse and Neglect for Non-Medical Professionals, and NC Practice Standards Worker Training Series (Assessing, Communicating, Engaging and Planning) must be completed within one year of hire.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

Required Minimum Training:
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience;
- or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience;
- or Master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience;
- or a four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience;
- or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization;
- or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
