Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven professional to join our team as a Processing Assistant IV within the Self-Sufficiency Unit. This position plays a vital role in supporting community members by ensuring access to Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, a critical service that helps individuals attend essential medical appointments, or providing gas vouchers and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and in compliance with policies.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.- Enter authorizations for transportation assistance in the tracking system
- Review bills and authorize payment for contracted transportation and vendors.
- Organize and store payment records for auditing and monitoring purposes
- Check and monitor voicemails daily
- Calling medical providers
- Tracking gas voucher spreadsheet
- Entering/tracking missing gas vouchers verifications and PATS no shows
- Mailing No Show letters to clients
- Tracking Med Trans Stats (calls, gas vouchers and PATS rides)
- Verifying clients’ approval in NC Tracks
- NEMT quarterly reports
- Attend quarterly Transportation Advisor Board meetings
- Other tasks as needed
- Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience.

Salary : $36,268 - $56,679
