Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards for Science and Social Studies.
- Create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate Science and Social Studies.
- Utilize technology and resources to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff to support student success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum updates.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times to ensure a safe and positive environment.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities, including parent-teacher conferences and community events.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for middle school Science and Social Studies.
- Strong understanding of middle school pedagogy and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching and learning purposes.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction to meet varying needs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

- Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred but not required.
