They also play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with quality standards, regulations, and customer expectations.
Duties
- Inspecting and Testing – Conducts various inspections, tests, and audits to ensure products and processes meet quality requirements.
- Data Collection and Reporting – Needs to collect data, document findings, and report on quality issues and process-related problems.
- Problem Resolution – Identifies and troubleshoots quality issues, recommends solutions, and implements corrective actions.
- Process Improvement – They may suggest and implement process improvements to enhance quality control and product reliability.
- Documentation and Record Keeping – Must maintain accurate records of inspections, tests and findings.
- Collaboration – Will often need to collaborate with production teams and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Training and Support – Will need to train production staff on quality control procedures.
Experience
- Technical Proficiency – Strong understanding of QC principles, testing methods and manufacturing processes
- Analytical Skills – Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and troubleshoot problems
- Attention to Detail – Must be meticulous and pay close attention to detail when inspecting products and processes
- Communication Skills – Essential for reporting findings, collaborating with teams and training staff
- Problem Solving Skills – The Ability to identify and resolve quality issues is a key aspect of the role
