What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Paralegal-Hospitality & Leisure Practice | $100K to $130K | Hybrid position at Permanent Placements LLC?
Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal to support its Hospitality & Leisure practice group. This position can be based in Chicago, New York, Phoenix, or Washington, DC, and will report to the Practice Group Leader with day-to-day direction provided by assigned attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct and coordinate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and related documentation
• Assist in drafting and reviewing real estate conveyance and closing documents
• Manage all aspects of real estate closings for acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and equity transactions
Closing responsibilities include:
• Preparing signature page packages
• Managing document delivery
• Ensuring checklist compliance
• Handling recording requirements
• Assembling detailed closing books
Additional responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and file UCC financing statements
• Order and analyze UCC, lien, litigation, and similar searches
• Handle entity formation and maintenance, including related filings
• Review and compile officer’s certificates, resolutions, organizational documents, and other closing deliverables (drafting experience preferred)
• Conduct legal and factual research for special assignments and prepare related reports and filings
• Communicate with clients and external parties regarding assigned matters
• Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or a Paralegal Certificate with equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of real estate experience, ideally in a law firm, in-house legal department, or title company
• Experience with large, complex transactions and proficiency in title and survey review
• Hospitality industry experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent client service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF tools, document management systems, and timekeeping software (e.g., Elite)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000, depending on experience.
