What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at PERIMETER SOLUTIONS GROUP LLC?
Tusco is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Preconstruction team in Huntsville, AL.
As an Estimator, you’ll take ownership of assigned opportunities throughout the estimating process – from initial project review and scope development through pricing, proposal submission, and turnover to Project Management and Operations.
You’ll work closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop accurate, competitive, and comprehensive estimates for projects across the country.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for assigned construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to develop complete scopes of work
- Perform quantity takeoffs and obtain material, vendor, and subcontractor pricing
- Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted within required deadlines
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain comprehensive pricing and proposals
- Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and preconstruction strategy meetings
- Maintain accurate bid, opportunity, and sales information throughout the estimating process
- Follow up with customers on submitted proposals and collaborate with leadership on sales strategy
- Coordinate the turnover of awarded projects to Project Management and Operations
- Support Project Management with pricing and documentation for change orders as needed
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 3 years of related experience
- Experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, scope development, and pricing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Bluebeam or similar estimating/takeoff software
- Experience with FollowUp CRM or similar software is a plus
- Working knowledge of CAD and/or Revit is beneficial
- Ability to travel as needed
