Performance Home Medical
Philadelphia, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/1/2026

Performance Home Medical, established in 1995, is dedicated to enhancing lives through trusted respiratory and sleep therapy solutions. Our concierge-level care ensures every patient receives the support needed to breathe and sleep with comfort and confidence.

Performance Home Medical operates 24 branches across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Texas. As we continue to grow nationwide, we are excited to announce an opportunity for a National Clinical Director to join our team. This hybrid role combines both on-site and remote responsibilities, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The National Clinical Director leads the clinical strategy and operations for a home respiratory company delivering CPAP/BiPAP, Oxygen therapy, Ventilators, and related devices to patients in their homes. This role provides national-level strategic direction and oversight—directly or indirectly—of all clinical staff (e.g., RRTs/CRTs, Respiratory Clinical Managers, clinical educators, and field clinicians), ensuring safe, evidence-based, compliant, and patient-centered care. The leader drives consistency in clinical protocols, outcomes, documentation, and collaboration with commercial and operational partners to achieve top-tier results in quality, safety, patient experience, and cost efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Set and maintain the national clinical vision, strategy, and standards for CPAP/BiPAP, Oxygen, Ventilator, and related home respiratory services.
  • Develop, approve, and govern clinical Policies & Procedures, clinical pathways, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all sites/regions.
  • Establish national clinical committees/workgroups (e.g., ventilator care standards, sleep therapy optimization) to align practice and share learnings.
  • Lead clinical change management for new models of care, technology, documentation standards, and integration following acquisitions.

Clinical Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure clinical practice adheres to applicable laws and regulations and internal policies (e.g., documentation standards, patient safety event reporting, durable medical equipment requirements, infection control, privacy/security expectations).
  • Create/oversee national clinical audit programs (chart audits, device set-up accuracy, adherence monitoring, ventilator safety checks).
  • Implement corrective action plans and continuous improvement initiatives to address audit findings, near-misses, and adverse events.
  • Maintain readiness for payer, accreditation, and regulatory reviews; partner with Quality and Compliance to sustain “audit-ready” operations.

Outcomes, Analytics & Clinical Excellence

  • Define national clinical KPIs and dashboards; monitor outcomes and trends at provider, branch, regional, and national levels.
  • Drive measurable improvements in:

o CPAP adherence and therapy optimization

o Oxygen titration accuracy and requalification compliance

o Ventilator patient safety checks, alarm settings, and caregiver education

o Hospital readmission rates and patient-reported outcomes

o Documentation completeness and timeliness

  • Leverage data to guide resource allocation, training priorities, product selection, and care pathways; lead root cause analyses for underperformance.

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Directly/indirectly manage clinical leaders and staff nationwide; set performance expectations and hold teams accountable for clinical outcomes.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing clinicians; create career pathways, succession plans, and mentor emerging leaders.
  • Lead workforce planning and staffing models to support growth, seasonality, and acuity changes; oversee competency validations and annual skills checks.

Education, Training & Clinical Enablement

  • Build and deploy curricula for initial and ongoing clinical education (e.g., device set-up, troubleshooting, documentation excellence, patient coaching).
  • Standardize patient education materials and teach-back protocols to strengthen comprehension and adherence in home settings.
  • Advance clinical informatics literacy (EMR/EHR, device platforms, adherence portals) and data use in daily clinical decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Sales/Account Management, Supply Chain, and IT to align clinical programs with service delivery, access, and growth goals.
  • Support commercial strategy with clinical expertise (e.g., payer, health system, and physician partnership models) while safeguarding clinical integrity.
  • Participate in product evaluation and formulary decisions; align device selection with clinical outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and training feasibility.

Financial & Operational Stewardship

  • Align clinical programs with budget targets; optimize clinical workflows, route efficiency, and visit models without compromising quality/safety.
  • Evaluate ROI of training, technology, and program pilots, scale successful initiatives nationally.
