Responsibilities
- Provide specialized dental treatments for pediatric patients, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and preventive care
- Perform oral surgery procedures such as dental extractions and other minor surgical interventions with precision and care
- Utilize advanced dental software systems like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix to document patient records accurately and efficiently
- Conduct patient assessments by evaluating medical and dental histories, performing clinical examinations, and developing personalized treatment plans
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment during all procedures
- Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, preventive measures, and treatment options using clear dental terminology
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless delivery of general dentistry services within a pediatric-focused environment
Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure in pediatric dentistry
- Proven experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry with a focus on children’s oral health; prior dental clinic experience is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to pediatric patients
- Proficiency in dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for medical documentation and record keeping
- Ability to perform dental procedures including root canal therapy, dental fabrication, prosthodontics, and dental extractions with aseptic technique
- Familiarity with infection control standards compliant with HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively while demonstrating compassion and professionalism
