Job Summary
The Senior Accountant has an integral role in supporting dynamic growth across the Company and ensuring appropriate accounting within the organization. Must be a self-starter and take full ownership of their areas of responsibility to provide solutions and alternatives. This is a key role within a group that represents the bridge between business leaders, business level finance management, and corporate accounting. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, general ledgers and performing activities (in accordance with US GAAP) as well as supporting and helping lead the monthly close process.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
- Review the preparation of external financial statements provided by foreign branches
- Review Fixed Asset schedules which include CIP and PPE rollfoward
- Manage the preparation of the flux analysis and add explanations to items that meet the flux explanation threshold
- Prepare the consolidation reporting file and supporting schedules
- Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile certain balance sheet accounts
- Assist with Workday, including general ledger account additions, error review and training
- Assist with new guidance adoption or implementations
- Assist in managing cross-departmental month end close
- Assist in identifying areas for process efficiencies in areas relating to AR, AP and month end close
- Assis in the preparation of Stravis reporting file and supporting schedules
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Participate in 'Monthly Spend Review' meeting with FP&A, identify variances and provide explanations or guidance for proper accounting
- Reconcile intercompany relationships and balances, including research and resolving discrepancies
- Partners with the financial leadership team and extended finance team in working on the annual audit, ad hoc projects including tax projects, M&A research, and analysis and financial research
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
- Understanding of lease accounting under ASC 842 and ability to research accounting issues, as necessary

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
- Typically requires 6 to 8 years of relevant audit or accounting close and financial statement preparation experience depending on education level and experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX/internal controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, SUMIF and VLOOKUP functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Results-oriented, resourceful, and service-driven
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
- Strong accounting knowledge and exceptional attention to detail
- Willingness to challenge the status quo to enhance productivity, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Oracle a plus
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA License preferred
