Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dishwashing / Food Prep Associate to join our culinary team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, and supporting overall food service operations. Prior experience in dietary departments, catering, or restaurant settings is highly valued.
Duties
- Responsible for dishwashing and ensuring all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
- Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals
- Support menu planning and meal assembly to ensure timely service
- Help with cooking and food handling following safety standards and recipes
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, storage areas, and kitchen surfaces
- Assist with food safety practices including proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients
- Support catering events or special meal services as needed
- Ensure all food service activities comply with health regulations and safety protocols
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong food handling and safety skills with understanding of proper sanitation procedures
- Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments, including food industry standards
- Culinary experience including knife skills and food presentation is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and kitchen staff
