Pepin Distributing Company is working alongside the Future Career Academy and Workforce Development Partners to find Hillsborough County students the first step in your career. We are looking for upcoming graduates to join our team as a CDL Driver Trainee, Territory Merchandiser, or a Warehouse Order Selector.

Work Schedule: Full-time positions with variable schedules; part-time opportunities available

Starting Pay: $40,000 (plus benefits, 401k, and free giveaways throughout the year)

Training: Free, paid, on-site training provided for every position.

Positions Overview

As a Driver Trainee, you will begin to gain industry knowledge with our drivers delivering beer. This position provides training to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL-A). Our CDL Driver Trainees assist Drivers in delivering package & draft products to accounts on assigned route and on assigned schedule. The Driver Trainee unloads, stocks, and rotates products in stores and other retail accounts. Our Driver Trainees interact with customers to take any additional orders, answer any questions, and complete necessary delivery documentation.

Ever wonder who creates beverage displays that catch your eye at grocery stores? Our Territory Merchandisers do! This position is a great opportunity to develop a career while learning about the beverage industry. Merchandisers conduct daily activities in grocery stores including but not limited to building displays, Point of Sale (P.O.S.) placements, space management within regulatory guidelines, pricing of products, and the pull-up and rotation of product per Company Policy. This position also offers part-time, weekend opportunities to learn while still in school!

Ready for a fast-paced environment that has huge potential for commissions and certifications? Our Warehouse Order Selectors work on electric pallet jacks and other machinery building out orders for next day delivery. Our management will train and certify you on the pallet-jacks and forklifts after joining our team! These Selectors work on an uncapped commission structure as well. Several of our employees at Pepin Distributing started in this role and worked their way up in the company and you can too!

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One (1) year of general work experience preferred. Prior grocery store and/or consumer products experience a strong plus.
• Daily, in person travel within the service territories of Pepin is required.
• Excellent communication, organizational and assertive skills
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work, to include frequent lifting of cases 25-40 pounds, and the frequent lifting and handling of kegs that weigh up to 200 pounds.
• Able to work within regulatory guidelines.
• Must have a smart phone with a camera and data capability.
• Must hold a valid US Driver’s license.
  
  

The Physical Requirements

• Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus)
• Continuous standing and walking, up to 8 hours at a time
• Continuous lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 25-200 lbs.
• Ability to operate a two or four-wheel dolly.
• Must be able to push 300lbs dolly load and move 200 lb kegs.
• Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack.
• Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering dolly, hand truck, bay roll up doors, straps, curb ramps, truck doors, boxes, cases, kegs, truck gear shift.
• Must be able to pass a preemployment DOT Physical and Drug Screen
