Avionics Wire Harness Technician
8 Months, Possible Extension
Greenville, SC
Work Schedule:
Must be flexible to work either shift:
- 1st Shift: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Training will be conducted on the day shift, with transition to 2nd shift upon completion
Shift differential will apply once working 2nd shift
Must be available to start on May 4, 2026
Position Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Wire Harness Technician to join our Backshop Wire Harness team.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience in harness fabrication, wire identification, and braiding, along with a solid understanding of avionics systems and electrical components.
- This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to build, modify, troubleshoot, and repair complex avionics wiring systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and modify electrical wire harnesses for avionics systems in accordance with engineering drawings and schematics
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Utilize wire marking equipment to properly label and identify wires and cables
- Operate harness braiding machines to protect, organize, and secure wiring assemblies
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot wafer connections and related components
- Modify and support Gigabit Ethernet Switch (GES) systems, including troubleshooting and repair
- Perform Ethernet wiring modifications, testing, and troubleshooting
- Assemble, troubleshoot, and modify circuit breaker panels and matrix assemblies
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve complex technical issues
- Apply knowledge of avionics systems to diagnose and repair electrical faults
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including test results and repairs
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with electrical systems and equipment
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in: Wire harness build and assembly, Soldering and crimping techniques and Wiring repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience working with avionics or aerospace electrical systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
