Location: Columbus, OH
Contract Duration: 13 weeks contract
Shift: 12 hr Night Shift (7pm to 7.30am)
Pay Rate: $2100/ week
Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology
Job Overview
- We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology to join our healthcare team. The Oncology RN will provide high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation support, and symptom management. The ideal candidate is skilled in oncology nursing practices, patient education, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans for oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, IV medications, and supportive treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patients for treatment reactions, side effects, and changes in condition
- Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
- Perform patient assessments including pain management, symptom control, and psychosocial support
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and oncology care standards
- Support patients through all phases of cancer treatment and recovery
- Respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient condition
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent Oncology RN experience preferred
- Experience with chemotherapy administration preferred
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification preferred
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification Required
- Strong knowledge of oncology nursing standards and patient care protocols
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in inpatient or outpatient oncology settings
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Knowledge of cancer treatment modalities and supportive care practices
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients in fast-paced clinical environments
