This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end international freight export process across both air and ocean shipments, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of cargo. The Freight Export Agent will deliver exceptional customer service to clients, carriers, and overseas partners while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced logistics environment.
The candidate will have prior experience in international freight forwarding (air and/or ocean), strong knowledge of export documentation and carrier procedures, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international air and ocean export shipments from booking through final departure or vessel sailing
- Prepare and process export documentation including: House Air Waybills (HAWB), Master Air Waybills (MAWB), Ocean Bills of Lading (HBL/MBL), Commercial invoices, Shipper’s Export Declarations, AES filings
- Arrange cargo bookings with airlines and steamship lines, negotiating space and rates as needed
- Communicate with customers, overseas agents, trucking companies, airlines, ocean carriers, and warehouses regarding shipment status and requirements
- Ensure compliance with TSA, FAA, IATA, FMC, and U.S. Customs regulations
- Monitor shipment timelines to ensure on-time departures and vessel sailings while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Track and trace shipments and proactively resolve delays, rollovers, or service issues
- Coordinate cargo pickups, consolidation, handling, and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal operating systems (e.g., CargoWise or similar platforms)
- Provide rate quotations and support customers with export-related inquiries for both air and ocean freight
- Collaborate with accounting teams regarding billing, invoicing, and file reconciliation
Qualifications
- 2 years of air / ocean export experience within a freight forwarding or logistics environment
- Strong understanding of international air and ocean freight operations and export procedures
- Experience with airline and/or steamship line bookings and export compliance requirements
- Knowledge of AES filing procedures preferred
- Familiarity with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
