Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our innovative team. Located in Kokomo, Indiana, our primary business unit focuses on electric vehicle battery manufacturing, with a growing emphasis on the energy storage system vertical. Your role will involve assisting and validating incoming equipment to meet manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist and lead the evaluation of schematics and electrical safety for new equipment.
- Review machine manuals, wiring, and PLC ladder logic.
- Participate in the integration and commissioning of new equipment.
- Collaborate with Automation, Vision, and Process Engineering teams.
- Understand and apply machine safety, ISO manufacturing standards, and reliability practices.
Essential Skills
- Technical engineering degree (Bachelor's or Associate's).
- 3-5 years of experience in commissioning automated systems.
- Knowledge of machine safety and reliability.
- Ability to modify ladder logic for Mitsubishi and Omron safety relays.
- Experience in automotive and battery manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automotive and/or battery manufacturing.
- Mitsubishi PLC certifications.
Work Environment
This full-time position is based onsite in Kokomo, IN. The role involves working primarily on the manufacturing floor, with minimal office time. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM, with overtime as needed. The facility is state-of-the-art, equipped with robotics, AGVs, and AMRs.
